A groundbreaking product from a groundbreaking team.

Mark Nelson

Founder, CEO

Mark is a true visionary and an expert in both the worlds of literature and technology. His unique background makes him exceptionally qualified to lead Equeum, a data aggregator company that helps its customers make informed decisions.

After earning a BA and MA in English Literature from Columbia, Mark taught himself coding and wrote Ovid, the first search engine for medical information. His hard work and innovation paid off, as Ovid quickly became the dominant platform for doctors and researchers worldwide, eventually being sold for a staggering $200 million. This accomplishment speaks to Mark’s ability to identify problems in the tech industry.

But Mark’s contributions to the tech industry don’t end there. Along with Ovid CTO Mike Gursky, he co-founded Alpheios, a software that makes learning Ancient Greek and Latin easier and more accessible. These accomplishments make Mark the perfect leader for Equeum. Investors can trust that with Mark at the helm, Equeum will be well positioned for success in the data aggregation industry.

Mike is a key player in the success of Ovid and, by extension, Equeum. As the first person to join Mark in launching Ovid, he was instrumental in getting the company off the ground. While working at IBM Research, Mike saw the potential in Ovid and decided to take the leap and join the company. His technical expertise was crucial in helping Ovid grow and develop full-text and natural language processing capabilities, making it the go-to platform for doctors and researchers worldwide.

Mike’s background in mathematics and his proven track record of success make him an invaluable asset to Equeum. His contributions to Ovid speak to his ability to identify and solve important problems in the tech industry, and investors can trust that he will bring that same level of dedication and expertise to Equeum. With Mike on board, Equeum is well positioned to continue its growth and success in the data aggregation industry.
